Cool Kids - That's Stupid The Mixtape (Link & Review)

Since their debut in 2007, The Cool Kids, have accomplished more in a span of a year than most artist do in a career.

Gaining steady rotation for their single, Black Mags, on MTVU, landing a cameo on Rhapsody's Tivo commercial and releasing an official EP and album one can't help but applaud these guys for their work ethic. Their hard work continues to show as Mickey Rocks & Chuck Inglish dropped their third release in under a year with "That's Stupid The Mixtape". Clocking in at under 20 minutes from the first track to the last you have to wonder does the less equals more approach hurt The Cool Kids in this situation. The answer to this is quite simple. NO!!!

Mickey & Chuck have once again blessed up with heavy bass, simple loops, and dope rhymes to keep us entertained until their official studio album, When Fish Ride Bicycles gets released later this year. The entire mixtape is hosted by Power 106 LA's Mando Fresco, but no worries are needed here as you won't hear him screaming over the tracks, dropping bombs, or bringing the songs back 20 plus times before you get to listen to them straight through. He does exactly what a host is suppose to do and that's introduce the track and let the audience enjoy the music. With that said if you are looking for complex beats, intricate thought provoking rhymes, or something to make you sit back and rethink your lifestyle then That's Stupid The Mixtape is not for you. But if you are a fan of GOOD music and you want something that you can dump into your iPod, or bump in your car with the windows down and speakers at full blast then this mixtape is everything you want and more.
